Everyone Loves a Parade

On the last Saturday of every November, the City of Thorold, deep in the heart of the Region of Niagara, echoes with the cheerful sounds of the annual Thorold Santa Claus Parade. Founded in 1991 by volunteers, the Thorold Santa Claus Parade has delighted and entertained the citizens of Thorold and surrounding areas with its display of bands, floats, marching units, and - of course - Jolly St. Nick himself ever since.

A Little Christmas Sharing

As usual, entertainment is not the only the only benefit of the Thorold Santa Claus Parade. It is an opportunity to display examples of community helping community by organizations such as the Walker Brothers Quarry, who are collecting new toys this year. Foodland and the Thorold Community Activities Group who collect and non-perishable food. The Girl Guides will pick up clothing, mittens, scarves, hats, etc. Without their help, some might have to go without this Christmas. And don't forget to bring your letters for Santa!

Come On And Join In!

Everyone is welcome to join in the Thorold Santa Claus Parade. Just fill out and send in an application form which you'll find on the page entitled "Entry Form". If you do not know where to start in building a float, the Thorold Public Library has copies of our float-building seminar to show you just how simple it can be. All we ask is that you have some kind of Christmas season theme.
